Making Dreams Possible
Welcome to our Education Connection page! Education is one of the most significant driving forces behind a strong and sustainable community. However, seeking an education in Kenya is a surprisingly difficult financial burden. Many of the families we work with live on less than $2 dollars a day and and most often struggle to meet these basic needs. For such families, providing for their children's (s') educational needs is completely unobtainable, leaving their children vulnerable and uneducated.
All of our students come from a variety of backgrounds - some are orphans, while others have one or both of their parents. Regardless of their status, each of them have a great desire to learn and to be educated, but have been held back due to their unfortunate circumstances. It is out goal to connect donors like you to such students, so that they may be able to receive an education and develop from your financial and motivational support.
School Type: Boarding School
We have refocused our education program to find sponsorships to send our communities' students to boarding school, instead of local day-school. Boarding school offers much higher educational learning potential and oportunities for these students' futures.
Yearly Cost: $300
The yearly cost of boarding school includes the student's tuition and transport costs.
Our Goal: Long-term commitment
KSI's focus is to match disadvantaged students with willing sponsors, with the goal of building a relationship between the sponsor and student that will carry through the student's high-school years and, hopefully, on into university courses. Such longterm support provides the best reinforcement and hope for the student's future.
