As students and faculty, your university group will experience village life in the most realistic and hands-on approach possible, more importantly, your students will be exposed to and learn from a life and culture much different from the one back home. The citizens of Wongonyi Village or Kibera Slum, our two most visited destinations, will welcome your group with unmatched generosity and interest.

Program Itinerary
Let The Journey Begin!!
Day 1-2 Arrival Day
Nairobi Following the arrival of your international flight into Nairobi, a member(s) of our Kosmos staff will meet your group at the gate of your respected arrival Terminal. Transport to your homestay location in Nairobi, where your group will be able to rest and become situated with their new surroundings – Try and beat the jet-lag! Group orientation on what is expected from program
General exposure trip around Nairobi City
Day 3 Let’s Go!Depart by train
to VOI, and then to the village of Wongonyi, Kenya Your travel to Wongonyi will provide you with a great opportunity to see amazing views of the Kenyan landscape, including some animals, plains, Mt. Kilimanjaro (depending on the clarity of the sky), Tsavo National Park, and much more. We will have one stop over on our journey to Wongonyi, to stretch and have lunch. Arrive on location around 13:00, depending on traffic and weather conditions. Get settled in at home base, relax, enjoy the amazing view, and enjoy the community welcome dinner is the perfect opportunity to bring your group and local villagers together, while enjoying an appetizing Kenyan meal. The Chief, members of his leadership, and local business and group leaders will be the main guests of the evening -besides your group of course!
Day 4-6 village Wongonyi, Kenya
During the first half of your time in Wongonyi, your group will begin working on their projects, meet with business and self-help groups, attend community interaction meetings and learning sessions, and enjoy specially arranged speakers from the area. And more! As with our previous groups, most of the students quickly find their niche, taking their experience to a completely new level of personal experience and growth.
Day 7-8 Tsavo!
Over the weekend, we will take your group on a much-needed break to experience a two-day game drive in famous Tsavo National Park. At Tsavo National Park, you will see lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and others.
Day 8-10 - Village Wongonyi, Kenya
Following the weekend away in Tsavo National Park, your group will return back to Wongonyi, where they will take the remainder of their time to complete their volunteer work, and simply enjoy and learn from the unique environment they will be surrounded by
Day 11-12 Visit Historical Mombasa and Diani Beach
After the completion of your group’s program in Wongonyi, we will visit the historical city of Mombasa,visiting such tourist sites as: Fort Jesus, Old Town, Bombolulu Cultural Center (Traditional dancing, artwork, etc.), and of course, the beautiful and warm stay at DIANI beach!
Day 13 - Travel To Nairobi
Today we will return to Nairobi via Train from Mombasa, an estimated trip of 5 hours. The remainder of the day will be used for relaxing – it will be needed!
Day 14 – Nairobi, departure – Debriefing, Kibera
Since this will be your group’s last program day, we will visit the Kibera Slum – the 2nd largest slum in Africa – to experience and learn from a completely complex and unique way of life. After returning from Kibera, we
will debrief the group, discussing all aspects of their experience in Kenya –
from what they have learned, to hear remaining questions.Departure time! We will escort your group back to Nairobi International Airport for their return flight home and of course, exchange lots of hugs and goodbyes.
